Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th on the 26th of March, 1991. She is an American singer-songwriter and the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October 2016 Ari Lennox dropped her EP Pho. It was here that she was recognized. Her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music online in the year 2012, when she released her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. She continued to upload her tracks online through 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. On July 21 2015 Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat it Out. In the following year, her music was circulating throughout the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some possible references for Rihanna.
